Children across Australia (and the Globe) are placing teddy bears and rainbows in their front windows, fences and gardens in a nod to the much-loved 1989 children’s book, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. The movement is adding smiles to the faces of little ones as they go for walks to beat the boredom of isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.
This was one of my favourite story books as a child….and my own kids love the book too! What a fun thing to look for when getting some exercise in your local area and how could it not brighten your day. If you don’t have a copy of the book at home, watch the great video below, read by the author Michael Rosen himself.
You can also download some fun activity sheets here.
So if you have a bear…join the fun and place him/her in your front window!
