Events, Festivals and Live Shows
Emil and the Detectives (QPAC 14 – 18 July, 2021)
Emil and the Detectives comes to QPAC next month in an outstanding piece of children’s theatre featuring a streetwise city kid and a sinister stranger.
Based on Erich Kästner’s 1929 novella, this story broke ground for the independent-children-versus-devious-adults genre. This production is an uplifting, riveting and empowering look at the value of teamwork and friendships, taking risks, and the empowerment of young people. A theatrical delight for young and old, not to be missed.
Swamp Juice (QPAC 6 – 19 July, 2021)
Using jaw dropping shadow puppets made from household objects and bits of rubbish, acclaimed Bunk Puppets puppeteer Jeff Achtem creates a wildly imaginative gurgling adventure about life in a swamp.
This award-winning favourite of family audiences and critics has toured the world and comes to QPAC this June, with an out of this world 3D shadow puppet finale that will leave you spellbound.
Potted Potter (3 – 8 August, 2021)
Potted Potter – The Unauthorized Harry Experience takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes. Even if you don’t know the difference between a horcrux and a Hufflepuff, POTTED POTTER will make you roar with laughter.
Larrikin Puppets performs colourful and exciting puppet shows and interactive puppetry workshops featuring zany characters and catchy songs, live and online. They have just released a fun, catchy debut music EP for kids aged 3-7, available to listen and download.
