Calisthenics is a unique Australian sport that encourages physical development, coordination, self-discipline, team spirit, appreciation of music and rhythm, and most importantly FRIENDSHIP. This unique art form blends the technical aspects of those dance styles most commonly known such as Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and gymnastics and fuses them together to produce items both with and without apparatus that excite and entertain audiences with its original flair.

Helensvale Calisthenic Dance Academy is about to enter its 23rd year of existence and is currently the largest Calisthenic club in Queensland. With over 120 students and 15 accredited coaches, HCDA is highly regarded not only within Queensland but also nationally. Holding numerous Queensland State Championship titles in both our team and solo’s, we have also travelled nationally to compete against other clubs from around Australia, bringing home great results.

It’s is not the many state and national titles we have achieved that we treasure the most, it is the family atmosphere that we hold dearest to our hearts. This sport allows the entire family to be involved whether that is as a performer or a volunteer we welcome all to be involved.

Helensvale Calisthenic Dance Academy is situated on the Northern end of the Gold Coast, just near Movie World. Classes are held at the Helensvale Community Centre Discovery Drive Helensvale and at the Helensvale Primary School.
